Czech Out Our New Session Premium Northwest Pilsner
Super refreshing. Super drinkable. And at 4% ABV, our new Session Premium Northwest Pilsner is the best of both worlds with the kind of malty flavor and hop-forward aroma you’d expect from a classic Pacific Northwest-style Pils.
“Session Pilsner is brewed in the classic tradition of a Czech desítka, or 10-degree beer, but with a distinct Northwest twist,” says Full Sail Executive Brewmaster Jamie Emmerson. “Lighter in alcohol, but still full of hop and malt flavors, these beers are supremely satisfying. Session Pils takes the classic Czech style a step further with the addition of the citrusy Northwest hop varieties of Cascade and Crystal. Aromas of tangerine and orange are balanced with a delicate honey malt character and a refreshing green hop / citrus bitterness.”
An intensely aromatic lager with a distinctive hop finish, Session Pilsner is a Northwest take on a European classic that celebrates Oregon’s local Northwest hop growers, whose family farms have been passed on generation to generation. Deep in the Willamette Valley, there is an entire field of salmon-safe Cascade hops that are grown especially for Full Sail. It is in the spirit of this aromatic partnership that Session Pilsner was brewed.
While Session’s Pilsner is a new spin on things, the desítka style that inspired it – the beer Czechs drink at work! – has been around way longer than any U.S. lagers. And the Czechs, who drink the most beer in the world, per capita, know a good beer when they see one. Like traditional desítkas, Session Pilsner is a low alcohol beer with great flavor. So in lieu of a trip to Prague, live like the Czech and have a couple at lunchtime. Na zdravi! (That’s Czech for ‘cheers.’) Have a good Session!
